I bought a printer scanner and setup for the first time yesterday...ther was a dark brown film I thought it was protective tape I was supposed to get off and it was just hard to get off...well as I went further along it seemed glued on and that it was supposed to be there...It's a $60 replacement piece HELP

I bought it from buy.com I'll just have to pay $60 to replace it
