It depends on my state of mind. Most of the time curiosity would get the better of me, but if I could sense that it was intended to antagonise me and goad me into a reply, then I'd just delete it.

All of may relationships are so far in the past - I would read the email to see what they have to say - and I would respond - even if the response is 'never contact me again'!

The ex I'm imagining I'm friends with now. If he'd sent it when I was pissed off, it would have gone in the trash immediately. The subject like does sound hinky, though.

If there was a preview option in my email (like in outlook) I would go ahead and view it, but I wouldn't want to open it if there may be a read receipt attached. Then he would KNOW I read it.

This happened to me recently. My high school sweetheart sent me a message to my facobook inbox. I tried not to read it for 3 weeks and then I caved. I answered another week after that. I'm kinda self-destructive like that...

Sounds pretty spammy to me but if an ex actually sent it, that sounds pretty manipulative. I can't stand it when people beat around the bush like that. If someone has something to say to me then they had better say it. I'm not going to play those games and beg to know what they mean.

I would get too curious and read it, but probably wouldn't respond back. I've been on the other side too, and never got a response back.

I'm far to curious of a person not to read it. I wouldn't be able to sleep until I knew what it said. I'd delete after reading, though, and probably wouldn't write back either.
