I think there is merit to some "groups" in history. Whether or not youtube has it right though is another story all together. Fact and Opinion are two very different things and to be honest most people don't know what they are talking about. Do I believe there are powerful and politically influential people behind the scenes that we never see, of course. Nobody smart ever shows all their cards, or players in this case. Do I believe these unseens are all part of an elitist group that is all powerful, hardly. Bavarian Illuminati in general is an interesting topic but so are the Mayans and aliens for that matter. Unfortunately most of these topics are mainly speculation until hard proof surfaces.

It's ridiculous and quite frustrating.

There are no doubt influential groups - like the Masons - but the world is way too complex for any to have rule-the-world power. Most are European centric that pay scant attention to the far larger and more powerful Asian cultures and influences.
Look on the globe - Europe is not a true continent - it's just the far western portion of Asia - but the arrogant 'writers of history' needed to carve out a special place for themselves. It's the same arrogance that lead to hundreds of years of futile wars - it wasn't until the US enforced a peace on Europe that they could even remotely work together.
They often call us barbaric and unsophisticated - please - without the US you'd all be German slaves! But I digress.....

I read a lot about this topic ten years ago and it really drove me paranoid. But the more I read the more obvious the antisemitic tendencies became. Illuminati stuff is very often linked with the protocols of the elders of zion which has prooven to be a fake in the 1930.

There are all kinds of brotherhoods that exist today (Freemasons, Skull and Bones, bohemian grove and many more), so it is no stretch the illuminati might have existed in some form or another in the past, especially considering what the dark ages were like.
