In Loving Memory

Contributor: Peggi Peggi
Quite a few of you posted a reply to my thread from last night regarding love and loss of a dear pet.

I thought that it might be nice to create a thread where we can discuss lost loved ones, whether it be family, friends, or pets. Please feel free to add photos of your loved ones if you'd like, and a story as well! Just mentioning a name or who they were to you is fine as well.

I understand that this is a bit of a tear-jerker thread for some, and I certainly am not trying to bring down anybody's moods, I just think that it is nice to talk about loss, because it helps the grieving process.

So no matter how new or old the loss is, please feel free to share! And if you need comfort, this is the most excellent place to find it...believe me! I discovered last night just how compassionate this community really is when you are in need!

I responded to your first post . I just can't type that again, it breaks my heart even after two years. It's still so vivid in mind. I was so close with my little weenie dog, Bo. He was like a child to me. I wonder if I'll ever not cry when thinking about him?
They really are special and have their own little personalities. I would love to get another dog some day but I'm so scared to do this again. I don't even want to think of a close human relative or friend passing, I will be a total wreck!
I have a cat that is 17, I don't even want to think about that.

Here is a picture of the necklace I got the day my dog passed.

I loved that dog so much I insisted on getting my senior picture with him. The photographer had to say "treat" to get him to look at the camera lol. He was such a sweetheart.
Bo

Okay, now I must go turn on something funny cause now I'm all teary-eyed and emotional.

Thank you for sharing on my other post and for sharing these as well! I know it was very difficult for you to talk about, but it is a wonderful little Eden memorial! I love the photo where the "treat" method was used! Haha! You can see the excitement in Bo's eyes! What a cutie, I am sure he was such a sweetheart! I am sorry for your loss, and I hope that you have MANY more loving years with your other furbaby!

I have to say that seeing someone else hurting gets to me more than loosing someone myself. I never know what or how I can help make things better.

My younger sister just lost her best friend yesterday. She had her dog for 14 years. This dog had so much energy that you would think she was still a puppy. Betsy was not just my sister's pet, she was a loved member to all of us in the family. We all will miss her.

The vet found a tumor on her spleen, it was as big as a basketball and weighed 10 lbs. They removed it and sent her home the next morning. My sister spent the day with her but when they woke up on the second day she was weak and went back to the vet. Several hours later she passed.

Oh no! I am so sorry! You, your sister, your family and Betsy will be in my prayers along with my Stormy. Losing a best friend like that is very difficult!
