I don't have insomnia, I have a partner who snores so loud that it sounds like there is a constant train in the room. Ugh!

LOL! I had to laugh at that. My hubby is the worst snorer in the world. I've learned to live with it over the years, but it's gotten worse since we got married. I think he needs his sinuses checked!

I have been put on meds that don't even knock me out. College screwed my sleep pattern all to hell and back and it doesn't help that I have an anxiety disorder so sometimes I will me physically drained but my mind won't stop. I'll think and stress about the stupidest things but I can't help it. Xanax helps at times to get me to sleep but I'm a light sleeper and even when I use ear plugs I get woken up. The worst was been 3 days straight plus a few extra hours without sleep. Now I'm going on five hours in the last 48. The only time I ever get decent sleep is the weekend sleeping with my fiance. Needless to sau I can't wait to move in together. But I'm so used to it anymore. Rarely do I get more than 5 hours a night of decent sleep when I do sleep.

I don't suffer from insomnia and it's damn blissful having the bed totally to myself. The only one in my room who snores every now and then is my 1 yr old puppy and he isn't loud.

I have pretty bad insomnia. I cannot sleep without meds. Just can't. I'll stay up until noon the next day and finally crash. Sometimes I'll just stay up for days at a time. It's awful. I take Ambien every night now. Cannot function without it.

I don't have insomnia, but from time to time I wake up at 2-3am and can't go back to sleep. It's happened the last two nights in a row lately.

I have it intermittently. When I do have it, it's dreadful. Going to work with zero to two hours of sleep for weeks at a time. It wears me down.

I have manic insomnia brought on by recessive bipolar symptoms. You learn to live with it.

I swear, I think my partner may have your husband beat in the "worst snorer in the world" contest. Last night I sat in the living room and he was in the bedroom and I could STILL hear it.. Sometimes I'll even be in the kitchen (furthest room from the bedroom) and I can STILL hear it. The worst thing is is that it's not a constant hum. It's almost like he needs an exorcism or something...!

From time to time I get a moderate case of insomnia. I'm not sure what triggers it but it does not happen often and for very long. Maybe 2-4 weeks then it could be done for a year or two. Maybe stress, or body chemistry triggers it? Who knows. I do know that, if it makes me feel like crap for the short 2-4weeks I cannot imagine how people can deal with it for months on end, or years.

My insomnia is constant, but the severity influenced by my stress level. It's always one of the three: can't fall asleep, wake up a million times in the night, or wake up way too early and am too wired to go back to bed. I have a good night every once in a while, but I usually take some sort of anxiety med or sleeping pill to help me sleep.

I tend to get bouts of insomnia. It will come and go and usually last for about 2 weeks at a time. I take night time sleep aids and they help.

I have always had insomnia. The severity depends on my stress or anxiety level. This really creates a problem when I am married to someone who likes to go to bed around 9 pm...I mean seriously????

I could say I have it but I don't think it's true insomnia because it cycles.

I do. I'd say it is moderate to severe insomnia. Without meds I’ll sleep maybe once or twice a week for a short amount of time, but it's more of an irritable sleep. So I never wake feeling rested, just irritated and uncomfortable with burning in and around my eyes. I usually wake up with such dry mouth and eyes, leaves me very uncomfortable through the day.

Currently I’m on two prescribed sleep medications, and one over the counter sleep aid. With them I eventually get to sleep every night now. But it takes a lot to knock me out. I'll usually take my sleep meds at 9pm then get to sleep anywhere from 2am to 4 or 5am. Last night was 4am-ish I think.

Got to do what you got to do I guess? I'd be on Eden a lot more if I took my computer in my room at night. But I’ve made myself the rule to leave it downstairs when I go up to bed. Otherwise I’d never get to sleep and be way to stimulated to fall asleep easier. My thoughts would be racing if I did that and I wouldn't be able to shut my brain up!
It's easier to manage with a schedule.

I've had it for decades. I am on some good meds now, and they work about 95% of the time for me. I sleep better now than I did in my 20s.

I've dealt with insomnia for years. It runs the gamut from slight to TERRIBLE, fortunately I can currently go for long periods of time without any issues - thanks to some excellent doctors.

Like CuriousCat, it takes a lot to knock me out and keep me knocked out, and boy am I thankful those kinds of meds exist!

I knew a guy that only was able to get an hour or two of sleep everynight. I would hate a life like that. I have a hard enough time with the 5 hours I get.

I have delayed sleep phase disorder. Does that count as insomnia? It's not that I can't sleep, I just put it off because my circadian rhythm is screwed up.

My insomnia sucks. Been on meds for it for 10 years. Had to stop suddenly because I'm pregnant...its going to be a long 9 months. Weirdly if i take an afternoon nap i sleep better at night with or without meds. 3-5 hours is a good night's sleep.
