For some reason, I haven't ever had any of the bad Friday 13th happenings ...until a Monday the 13th. Sooo--what bout you guys?
Instead of Friday the 13th being an 'unlucky' day----let's change it to MONDAY the 13th!!!

That sounds good, I usually hate Mondays anyway. Atleast I did while I was still in school and when I had a job. I'm sure once I find a job that I'll hate Monday again!

I don't go in for superstitions of this sort. I've never had any trouble with anything that is supposed to cause luck, good or bad, and to me the whole idea is silly.
It all has to do with the way human brains recognize patterns, sometimes seeing ones that happen purely by accident. And when you're expecting bad luck (say, because it's Friday the 13th), you'll notice the negative events in your day much more acutely, and thus the belief gets reinforced.
Besides, if events, objects, or dates were truly bad or good luck, then the beliefs concerning them would be the same across every culture - and they're not. Okay, lecture over.

It is a celebration of life over here and we give thanks because my mother is still alive and is pretty much my best friend. Her surgeon died almost ten years ago, though, but we still pay our respects to him and his family.
As for Monday the 13th? Psssh...My damn annoying ass nephews kept bugging me while I was in a lot of pain. Monday the 13th blows lol.
