It's the end of May. Are you using your A/C yet?

Contributor: bayosgirl bayosgirl
Temperatures are already soaring into the upper 80's here in central OH. I try to just open the windows and run the ceiling fans, but when it's time to go to bed, I can't fall asleep without the A/C. Just wondering who else is using the A/C already. *sigh*-it's gonna be a long summer!

Talking about the ever-changing Oregon weather, it's only 49 degrees outside right now! My neighbor had their A/C on last week when the crazy temperature jumped up to eighty-something degrees, it wasn't too hot for us so we just had our fans on instead of the A/C.

Haha I've BEEN using it. Off and on, anyway. It started getting hot in FEBRUARY and we had to take the covers off of the unit outside. We stopped using the heater totally by the beginning of March, and A/C has been on almost constantly since then! what is with the weather for the last YEAR?! lol

Yep. It's SO hot some days here in Ohio and the humidity is horrible. I'm not looking forward to summer at all. Last summer was miserable.

It's disturbingly hot in our apartment so we have the AC in our room for when we go to sleep. Honestly, it seems to be hotter in our apartment than it is outside. It's brutal.

I hear that! We spent all last year in the AC and this year I will too. We've had it on a few times already, but not steady. However more times then not. It gets so HOT here during the day in Ohio even by the lake.

Not yet. I'm going to hold out as long as I can. I'm sure in a few weeks I will be putting it in and enjoying it. But today it is 57 out.

I go to school in the Northeast, which was rainy and (mostly) cool when I left. I'm in the South with my parents now, and the heat outside makes me want to crumple up and die. A/C is a necessity.

Here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest (Seattle) we don't really need AC. Over the years the usual temp is around 72 degrees on average all summer long. In August, we may get about 2 weeks in excess of 82 degrees, but the humidity is so low, it is a "dry heat" which is not a problem. It's great here.

Depending on where you live in Oregon: central OR - you almost need AC; coastal OR - you are tempered by the Pacific Ocean (it is beautiful along the coast); and finally, the OR mountains - just beautiful and cool!

I don't have AC but I have been in a new apartment for a week and have not yet turned the fans off. Thank god my landlord covers the electric bill!

In the southern CA coastal areas this time of year is characterized by fog and early morning clouds that clear off to nice sunshine most afternoons. This will go on through the end of June.

July is sunny - but not hot, the AC will come on for hot afternoons in Aug and Sept. The evenings are cool so the windows open at about 5 PM to let the cool oceans breezes come inside.

Yea - we're spoiled, what can I say?

I live in Florida - the AC is necessary to the survival of life. In fact, we just had to go a couple of days without it (freon leak) and we got it back online last night. Miserable days. I'm moving someplace with a humidity under 40%, because this 90% humidity crap is not for me.
