It's winter. What food do you miss most?

I cannot find a decent watermelon this late in the year. Yes, it is a great summer food, but I would so love it in winter too.

What foods are you unable to get in winter that you miss?

1) Bananas. I eat a banana for breakfast every day no matter what time of year it is, but in November-January they're always bright green!

2) Mangoes. There are hardly ever good mangoes in the spring or fall here, but in the winter they're like little green rocks in the store.

3) Pop Pop's Water Ice. A water ice store in my town that's only open for the summer months. You can get a giant, icy cup of wonderful, sweet water ice for like $3!

Agreed with fresh fruits. Off-season fruits are so puny and tasteless (not to mention expensive) in comparison.

True. It's not easy finding watermelon. I don't know what foods I miss really. I know I am happy for winter since it means egg nog though! Lol

Honestly, nothing. The produce here sucks so much as it is, that it doesn't matter what time of year it is, it all tastes the same.

Asparagus - not the giant woody stalks, but the tiny thin stalks that are just picked and have to be steamed within an hour or they go bitter. Everyone thinks I'm insane for loving asparagus because all they have are the canned or woody stuffy.
