Kids sleeping in your bed?

Contributor: Rod Ronald Rod Ronald
My chld has been sick now for the past couple of days. I get nervous when he's asleep and think the worst is going to happen sometime during the night. I either end up sleepig on his floor just to keep an ear on him or etc. The last two nights he has come into our room and snuck into bed with us. I don't mind this at all for two reasons. One, he never does this and two I can keep an eye on him. However, my wife hates it. It's not like we sleep in the buff or anything, so I don't see the problem especially if he's sick.
Does anyone else object to your child sleeping in your bed? Or do you not see it as a problem?

I don't let my son sleep in our bed for two reasons. The first is that my mom did this with me and I ended up going in her room for many years to sleep. The habit was hard to break. The second is because once he gets in our bed he wants to play rather than sleep, even if he's sick. So he'll stay up all night goofing off. Plus he kicks my husband in his bad back if he does ever fall asleep.

the little one will come and sleep in our bed when he has a nightmare, but that is the only time. They each have their own bed in their own room, that is where they sleep

When my boys were little, I too preferred them near to me if they were sick, This didn't happen often but yes they slept with us.

Anymore its when ever my kids are sick they'll end up in my bed. My son did used to sleep in my bed and it wasnt easy. He was a kicker in his sleep and gave me a bloody lip once..

W my daughter she's rarely in my bed. We even did bfing and I always put her back in her crib (or slept in a chair with her). I wasnt starting that habbit again LOL

OO tough subject for me!! unfortunately i have let my 2yr old sleep with me since the day he was born..I would worry not knowing if he was ok or not so he just ended up sleeping with me..then his dad got cancer and ended up passing away so it was a comfort thing for me as much as him to have him right next to me so i knew nothing would happen to him.Unfortunately since i met someone a year ago i have been trying to transition him in his own bed but its not working well! terrible but i think its just as hard for me as it is him..I sometimes put him in bed with me and have justified when he is sick because his temperature spikes high . I believe its ok sometimes but dont let the mistake happen to you like it has me because otherwise they will only be able to sleep in your bed and you will only feel comfortable knowing they are ok unless they are by your side!

I cosleep when my children are babies. I do start them off in their crib, but as the night progresses, it's so much easier on all of us to just bring them into our bed. Once they're older though, I found we all slept better in our own beds... I wouldn't mind having them in my bed now and then if they were sick or just needed us for whatever reason (bad dreams, etc).

My kids have never slept with us. If they come in when they wake up to rough house when we're all being lazy that's it. They have a bed and that's where they need to sleep.
