Kindle Fire popularity?

My partner, my friend, my friend's mother, my friend's step dad, and just about half of the people I know got one of these for Christmas. They're increasingly more and more popular, did you get one for Christmas? I think it's a little sad that some Mom and Pop bookstores are going out of business because of all the e-Book purchases, but I think I'll still to old fashioned paper.
