Ladies, how important is a man's style/clothing to you?

Contributor: K101 K101
Just curious after reading an article on Cracked that states (rather intensely) that a woman always notices style/clothing on a man & if he's going to a party, he better dress sharp! It also showed a photo of what the author called a "douchebag" type of style. LOL. Here's the article in case I've sparked interest, but don't forget to chime in with your opinion!

Do you really, really, really care about his style/clothing? If so, what style/type of clothing attracts you? I don't think I care about it as much as Cracked says girls do. I mean, I guess I did & still do notice my partner's style, but it doesn't matter a whole, whole heck of a lot to me. A wifebeater though? Hell. No. Ha Ha.

However, I don't need my man to have every detail of his outfit matching perfectly, hair in perfect place. I like that he doesn't go overboard, but puts in the right amount of effort to do things like shave every once in a blue moon (lol) or at least, for the love of God, not wear a wife beater.

So how much does a guy's clothing and style really matter to us?

I do not know girl, the one in the black wife beater was looking pretty damn hot to me lol. In all seriousness though, I wear wife beaters at times, how I prefer a man to dress would depend on the clubbing he does or if he does. I do not go out, no parties, no hanging out, just when I pay bills and shop. I do not even know how to dress anymore lol. I throw something on and personally don’t care how it looks. Nothing trashy, or with holes or anything like that.

If going to a strip club the wife beater is fine.
Bars then the work clothes are fine, jeans and a shirt.
Hanging with friends or family then a nice shirt and jeans better yet slacks. However, they do not have to be expensive name brands or anything.
If he is meeting the boss then wear the nice shirt, slacks and toss on a dinner jacket.

It does matter i mean i dont want a guy that dresses like a total nerd or slob and i shouldnt be so vain but its just in our nature to pick someone who is attractive to us and well thats what is attractive to me, a nice dressed guy. doesnt have to be fancy or wear a suit and tie but as long as he knows how to dress himself and have his own style than thats a turn on. and i can definately tell when my man is dressing to impress and when hes being casual and i prefer the dress to impress look but probably only because he is more confident when he feels good about himself just like women

Clothes don't matter that much to me as long as they are clean and fit right. There are, of course, some styles I prefer over others.

Clothing style matters very little to me. As long as they're not wearing stained and holey clothes on a regular basis (unless they're working and will be getting dirty), and the waist of their pants aren't down to their knees, than I don't care. I prefer a guy who knows how to clean up when the occasion presents itself, but I love a man in jeans.

Hah! I always notice a snappy dresser, but it's more important that he doesn't do certain things rather than he must do some things -- as in, I totally agree about the wifebeater thing! Same goes for sweatpants in public, turned-around caps, excessive low-riding and popped collars. Just..keep it classy.

Jeans and a t-shirt are fine with me. I do like it when my guy makes an effort to dress up a bit, but it is not too important....

Ha ha ha I can't stand sweats! I don't even wear them myself and I not a stylish dresser by any means. Clean clothes are good. My husband dresses in golf shirts and khakis and jeans. I'm not crazy about that look, but he is always presentable in any situation.
When I met him hewas still in the Navy mindset and ironed everything. Adorable.
I do like seeing a man in a peacoat or nice wool coat when it's cold.

I really do prefer a classy dresser when out nightclubbing. it doesn't need to be designer clothes, but come on guys, first impressions are near impossible to reverse. how we present ourselves tells a lot about who we are. I'm w/ you joolie, I can't stand sweats either & don't have any.

Great style can make me much more attracted to a guy. Or much less. Nobody wants a slob.
