Does your line of work require you to retest, re-certify, or do some such thing every few years?

I have been in my line of work for 30 years now, but every two years I have to get a pile of "continuing education" in the field (not so bad at all) and then every ten years, I have to take a huge, weekend long exam, just as if I had just finished training in school (groan...that part is horrible).

Does your line of work require continual testing? (Training is fine, but having your career on the line every few years is a real pain).

Yes, my like of work does (or will, for students) require retesting at certain intervals.

Kind of. I have to be certified to do certain specific types of work, but that's optional.

There are certain things we have to be retrained on every year, generally safety stuff. Management also has to take a first aid/blood-borne pathogens course, and get their certification as a food handler.
