Losing faith in all humanity, one YouTube video at a time.

Remember the Bosnian bitch who threw 6 screaming puppies into a river while someone filmed her?

I admit I have not watched this video because even thinking about it breaks my heart and makes me sad and angry.

Or the British woman who happened upon a cat. She pet the cat, then promptly tossed it in a trash bin. Luckily the kitty survived and is okay and back with her owner, but seriously: Who the fuck does this?

Now I have seen on the news someone who abandoned a limping dog on the side of the road. Just throws it out and drives away. Fucking assholes.

If you can't take care of another living creature, then DON'T. FUCKING. GET. ONE. That's it! No one is forcing puppies or kitties on you. You choose to have them, yet treat them like shit and get surprised when people get upset with you and call the cops. I've called the ASPCA and PETA on several occassions because in the south, people love to get horses. They just don't love to feed them or take care of their eyes or trim their hooves. Sadly, a few poor horses had to be euthanized because they were so out of shape and miserable.

These people make me SICK. And you know what? Ted Bundy never abused animals. Period. I'm not saying he was a saint, but shit.

I can't be the only one who is getting upset over this new wave of animal abuse, and its prevalence on the Internet

It's been around forever. The thing now is that it's being caught (with visual evidence at last) and brought to everyone's attention. It's the same for sexually abusing children and domestic abuse - it used to never be talked about, but it still happened. Now that such things are in the public consciousness it's being dealt with. No one is standing for such behavior now.

Amen. Animal abuse is something I will never understand. The headlines of a lot of these stories make me so nauseous and upset that I won't even read the article or watch the video that's related to it.

Very good point. People say "I wish it was like in the 50s where no kids were abused and everyone was nice."

That always makes me laugh because pedophilia and other disgusting behaviours have been around forever, but just now it's being exposed and aired out. In some ways, over-publicizing such things is bad and sad, but like you said, it's good that the public is more aware and these assholes are brought to justice.

I was so disgusted at even reading the headline for the Bosnian woman throwing puppies into that river, I couldn't watch the video.
I think it's good that these things are being brought to our attention, so as to hopefully eradicate them and have swift justice enacted... but at the same time, I can see with this wave of animal abuse, some people doing it for a moment of "fame" ... or infamy, really. Just a bit of a prediction on my part, and I'm hoping it doesn't come true.

This also reminded me of a few months ago (maybe it was a year ago now? who knows!), a woman got in a fight with her boyfriend/husband over jewelry. Her response was to deep fry his 7 goldfish and proceed to eat them. I think she got through most of them before the police showed up.
Now THAT story made me sick to my stomach. Sure people eat seafood all the time, but little pets that her significant other cared for and loved?! And she went through the TROUBLE to deep fry them?!?! aksljdaslkjdlakjd

To keep from losing all faith in humanity, I've taken to looking at all the good work there is out there. I recently went to a website called idealist.org, and started looking up non-profits in my area. Just to see what was out there, and what is being done about it. That made me feel better. I think it's important (for me at least) to focus on the positive, and on solutions. otherwise, I get swallowed by all this negativity and heartbreaking crap.

There are some things I'll go to watch on youtube such as instructional videos but any type of sick, twisted, cruel video should be banned or reported. Killing animals because they are an inconvenience or for fun isn't something anyone, especially kids, need to see. If something positive can come out of it, then I say leave them up. I was so happy when Peta jumped all over that lab in NC for animal cruelty. Many of them dogs and other pets were transferred to our area.

Remember the donkey in Russia or whatever that was used as propaganda for the parasailing company? Poor thing. That's really mucked up.

You're right about focusing on the positive. I've been volunteering at an animal shelter but even that can be heartbreaking, like when a sick cat is literally left on the doorstep. And funding for so many of these places is being cut, which means some animals are...this is getting sad.

The best part is when kids come in and visit the animals, or adopt them. It's so sweet to see a child or even an adult so genuinely happy to find a friendly companion. I just want to take all the animals home myself so they won't be heartbroken anymore!

That's the sad part about it! And excluding the video of the British woman, there are people HOLDING the camera, recording this, yet do nothing to stop it! That's as bad if not worse than the actual act. It's ridiculous.

Yes, this disturbs me that not only are there people out there who do such cruel things, but there are multitudes of people who witness these cruel actions and who choose to do nothing about it. How anyone can somehow be okay with themselves about choosing not to help ANY living creature they witness suffering is beyond me.

Haha, I actually wouldn't be very surprised if they did. (Or if he were a /b/tard himself!)
