Love and Hugs to all those in Tornado Torn Areas

Contributor: P'Gell P'Gell
The last few nights, while watching the news, I found myself crying again for the people who have lost their homes and livelihoods and even lives in the recent Super Out Break of tornadoes in the mid west and South.

I hope everybody is safe and healthy and that their loved ones are safe as well. These people certainly didn't need an other super outbreak so soon after the last one, less than a year ago in the same areas.

It's really windy here in the windy city (well, in the suburbs of the City) but we're usually protected from tornadoes because of our proximity to the lake.

For those of you in the hit areas, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Please stay safe.

I'd be happy to gather clothes for the children, babies and adults who have lost everything and I'd love to know where I can bring them.

thank you p'gell! it was super scary, everyone thought the apocalypse was coming here in lexington, ky.

i packed up my shit ready for the zombie attack or tornado, whichever should occur. luckily my town did not get hit, though there were tornadoes spotted.

we're so lucky. i can't imagine how it is for those who're having to rebuild their lives.

I'm glad you're OK, Alice. I know Kendra lives in the South, too. As do other members of Eden, Hot and Sexy Texas Mama, and others. I hope everybody is OK.

I'm so glad you're all in one piece and healthy.

We are fine, but my father's business that's in a different town in Missouri got hit and it completely tore up the building last week. Fortunately insurance is covering most of it, but it's still pretty scary. I'm glad no one in our family got hurt, but it's still sad to know that so many people did.

We got the least of the damage here in Georgia, but some homes were destroyed and one woman died in Alpharetta. She crawled into a storm drain for safety...it's a tragedy.

The winds were pretty strong in my neighborhood and we did take cover in the bathroom, but we were just north of the path of the tornadoes/super-cells. I was thanking my lucky stars, that's for sure.

I wasn't scared in the beginning until I started thinking about all of the towns that were completely devastated and essentially wiped off the map and I was thinking to myself "shit just got real". The only way I could calm myself was by realizing that the lights were still on---if the lights are still on, everything is moderately ok. When the power goes out, you know you're about to get a visit from Auntie Em and a lot sooner than you could ever imagine. (I have survived a tornado, many years ago but it wasn't anywhere near the caliber of the storms that rolled through last week.)
