My hubby and I are headed out for a romatic weekend and want to dine somewhere new. We have never been to the Melting Pot due to mix reviews, so I thought it would be wise to ask my EF friends. Have you been to the Melting Pot? Love it? Hate it? Why?

It's one of my favorite restaurants because it's fun. That said, you pay a lot of money to essentially cook your own food. This irritates my husband to no end. "Why pay money if you have to cook it yourself?" he says.
I'm vegetarian, so I can't speak to the quality of the meat, but the veggies are really good if you put the green goddess sauce on them and then put the sesame batter on it. YUM.
I'd say it's what you make of it. If you go with a fun attitude, it's a fun place to eat. If you go thinking "why am I paying and I have to do the work" then it's gonna suck. The staff at ours is always super nice, but that will vary from place to place.

I love going to mine, whenever they have a specials night. The food is tasty and it is fun, but... yeah. Best to go when there's a promotion on.
