They didn't want me for medical reason, when I was interested I was having issues with fainting and seizures. Apparently it's something with my family, when our wisdom teeth come in, some of us have seizures or fainting spells. My father had the same issues, it even cost him his scholarship with the Navy. Not that it's a bad thing, he was able to meet my mother since he didn't enlist.

I have not served but I have several family members that have. I also have gained a whole slew of Marines I'm proud to call brothers. There's no family quite like the USMC.

I've never served, but I thought about it occasionally before my health problems cropped up. My brother-in-law is in the Army (Infantry) back home in the UK, as was my maternal grandfather, and one of my friends was in the USAF. Brother-in-law was in Afghanistan for a while, is currently in Kenya.

None. I do know quite a few people who are in different branches of the military though.

I've never been in. I considered enlisting in the Navy before I met my husband. My husband was an FMF Corpsman, and I come from a military family so I've been a military "brat" and a Navy wife.

None personally, but I have a lot of current and former/retired military servicemen in my family - Navy mostly but my sibling is in the Air Force. My partner was enlisted in the Navy as well for a while.

"Any of you boys see an aircraft carrier around here?"

I never did military but my husband is navy. He enjoys the broad choice of jobs he can do so he never gets bored. We both love the travel and only spending 3 years in each country. We are going career. I love being a military wife.

Dezzy - thank you for serving our country. Your husband's service on the front lines is vital - your support of him is just as important.

Spent 8 1/2 years in Air Force Security Service as a RAE20371-MA,MD. This is an airborne qualified, Escape course qualified, Linguist trained in both Russian and Vietnamese. I spent 3 years in Germany (64 to 67) and 2 1/2 years is South east Asia 69 to 72. (Okinawa, Vietnam & Thailand). My son is Army with 8 years in transportaion (truck driving), with 6 months in Somalia (Think "Black Hawk Down) during Operation Restore Hope. Both my father and my father in law were in WW II, so you could say that it runs in the family. Plenty of stories, but not enough room.

Hubby just finished his contract with the Marine Corps. I wanted to enlist but got pissed when I couldn't claim any combat MOS. Then I met my Marine and didn't feel the urge anymore.

I haven't served but nearly every male in my family has served. My father was in the Air Force, my grandpa in the Navy, my other grandpa in the Army, my brother-in-law is still active in the Army, and my partner was in the National Guard.

I haven't, though it's still an option. I thought about going into the Airforce and getting a tech position when I was younger. I think right now with my crappy health and everything that it wouldn't work out for me.

A family member has a job in a gym on an Airforce base right now. Her exes were all in the Airforce.
