Mom calls to chat. Lover calls to Chat. Whose going on HOLD and WHOSE call you taking first?

I'd handle the phone call first and have an interruption-free play session... with some extra special attention given to the hubs for waiting.

If a mom calls before we start our "date night" we just deal with it. Like Katie said, it's easier for us to talk to the mom first and then have an uninterrupted date night.
Though my man's mom is so cute, she always forgets something and then calls back within 10 minutes of hanging up. lol Usually just once though.

mommy first... I live with my boyfriend and he is usually here and Involved in the conversation when my mom calls... but when I still lived in Maine and my mum was just down the road and the lover was hours away he always came first & everyone was very understanding

I've never had this with a phone call but once I was in the hospital for surgery and had to choose who could be in the room with me when I woke up, my mom or lover. I chose lover.

My family just keeps on talking especially my mom and grandmother, but get mad if I don't answer. So i answer see if there was an emergency or main reason for calling then say I have to go for which ever reason.

My boyfriend and I live together, so we rarely talk on the phone. If he calls, it's probably important. My mom likes to talk about nothing, so she can wait for me to call her back (and she's used to that anyway).

If more than one person is calling me to chat, which is unlikely, the first one to call gets the first chat. I think it's rude to dump a caller because a better one came along. I'd ignore the interrupting call until either I was finished, or the interrupting call got persistent enough to make me worry there was an emergency.
