How many miles have you had on a set of tires before you have had to replace them?

I have 45,ooo on one car, and they look like they need to be replaced. Lots of cracks in the rubber. Had them on for 5 years or so, which is about right for tire age. My other car I replaced the front tires at almost 80,000 miles, but the back ones still look brand new.

It depends on the tires. My tires are currently rated for 45k and I've done about 58k on them and they are definitely getting due. I did put over 60k on a set of tires on a different car.

miles dont really matter, it is the tire tread left. But all the tire companies say to change your tires every 5 years. The rubber compound starts to break down after so long.
