I have a little one, and if I were a little bit taller I wouldn't drop it nearly as often, but I love it to death and bought it from a dealership when I was 20 and had it paid off just a few months later, which I was really proud of.

So what about all of you? Love them? Hate them? Couldn't care less?

J has one that needs some work done, and he doesn't have his license. I'm dreading the day he can finally go out (though it will probably be this summer since his best friend is getting a bike and license). I absolutely trust him to be responsible on the road, but I don't trust people driving cars. Even if you're looking out for bikers and driving cautiously around them, accidents happen far too easily.

I'd like to buy one someday.

I like them for the gas millage. I'd be nervous about the whole "leg/head/body applied to the concrete" thing.

That makes me a little nervous too, especially because there are way too many people who only look for the big bikes if they look at all. But I'll take 87 mpg over 20 any day, lol

I had to sell mine about a year ago so i could move to a different state. When I started riding 15 years ago in Denver CO. the drivers weren't to bad but it got to the place that you spent so much time looking out for the IDIOTS (big city drivers can be the worst) that it was no fun any more. So we would just take trips to the mountains. Leathers and a helmet became mandatory to ride. ( not law but because of other people)
Sure do miss that bike, gas mileage and low insurance.

I've only been on one a few times, always as the passenger. I'd love to learn how to ride one and get one, though.

I actually hate them. Not because of the motorcycles themselves. But the rest of the drivers on the road. I've had several friends die on them, not their own faults. And my nephew almost died and is seriously injured for the rest of his life because he was hit from behind by a truck that didn't see him at a stop sign.

Other drivers are one of the big reasons I get nervous while riding. It's horrible that you had to lose friends because somebody wasn't paying attention.

The day I got my motorcycle license I was riding to work and almost got taken out by a Jeep that didn't look before it changed lanes.

I have one and like riding in the city or in the suburbs, but NOT on big roads. I am on the fence about whether to sell the bike. Gary hates me riding plus the bike is finicky and will likely need more maintenance than I should really put into something that I own solely for pleasure. There have been several issues over the last 4 years that just make me think it's going to always need some work or special care. I dunno. I love the way riding feels, and I love this particular bike, but it might not be practical to keep her.

I have my motorcycle drivers license, and I'm the owner of 2 motorcycles, 3 dirt bikes, 2 quads, a Zuma and a classic Vespa. I'm a wheels lady. The smells of gasoline and 2 strokes, and the roars of engines, totally excite me.

Unfortunately for me, I was involved in a bad accident on one of my quads in 2001. I was life flighted from Arizona to SO Cal, and then spent the next couple months in a wheel chair.
Needless to say, I can ride a mean ass wheelie on a bike and also on a wheel chair now. I spent over 2 and a half months perfecting my one wheeled 360 wheelie, so I better be damn good. LOL. Seriously though I can out wheelie anyone on a wheel chair, and my Dr's would get so angry with me when my Dad would visit and ask to see "The Wheelie Queen". Oh, to make my father proud!

The last sport bike I purchased was a 2004 GSXR750. Fast as F*, and just as fun. Just sold it in Feb. because it was getting a little dated.

We are avid riders. We're also very active as activists in the motorcycle safety community and as members of the PGR. link

Well. He rides. I fender buff.

I do have my own bike and I look at it daily but I haven't had time, since I got it last year, to take the safety class. Boo.

Someday. Until then, I'll buff the fender and enjoy the ride without having to be the one steering. Besides, I can drink my coffee better if I'm not driving...

That makes me sound like a jerk. If I qualified why I dislike it, I think everyone would side with me and you would be embarrassed. Health and safety first!

I finally got my motorcycle out and about, and boy I missed riding it. I actually rode on the back of it to my college graduation in my dress and gown and everything. My fiance's should be out shortly too. I'm very excited to be riding again!

I used to have a crotch rocket, a Ninja ZX 12. I laid it out and sold it to my step dad after I fucked up my leg

I would love to ride, the sense of freedom, air blowing by, and it looks so sexy but honestly I'm chicken right now...
