NaNoWriMo

Oh cool!

My idea came to be yesterday after I made this post. mid-20s woman squatting in an apartment, working two jobs, barely sleeping, loner, keeps people far away. co-worker at one of her jobs starts to take interest in her. one of the jobs is bartending at an upscale gentlemen's club. less

Well - my novel is the sequel to the first one I wrote when I did NaNoWriMo. It involves the best friends of the two main characters in the first one falling in love. It is an "Inspirational" Romance - aka "Christian Romance" without being preachy.

I already know how the first chapter will go - Ben (main character) will be driving into town on a dark rainy night (New England curvy roads) and arguing with Stephanie (the love interest who is only a friend at the time) on the phone because she gave his manuscript to her brother who is a publishing agent without his permission. During the course of the argument, he winds up hitting a moose that walks into the road and the car rolls a couple of times. She of course hears the accident and he's moaning her name while she tries to contact 911. Then it will flashback to their friendship and how it built over time.

The thing is - their story isn't overly interesting at the beginning - so I need something like the accident and argument to get the reader invested in the story. less

Stupid question because I can't be bothered to look at the official forums at this point in time and almost forgot today was the starting point...

So we write in a word file and upload/copy-pasta in the excerpt portion? And then enter the word count ourselves? less
