NEED SERIOUS HELP with an outfit! Girls size L and larger please read :)

Here is the outfit, Pinstriped Babydoll - link

I bought a large, because large usually works for me at most lingerie stores. It usually works for me everywhere, as a matter of fact. Now that I've read a review (God knows how I missed it) I'm thinking it may not fit me.

My measurements are as follows:

Bra: 36 C cup

Waist: 41 in.

Hip: 44 in.

Weight: 165 lbs.

Height: 4'5"

So, I look like I'm going to get screwed over completely. I really wanted to impress my fiance with this outfit that he's wanted me to buy for a while, but I just don't know if it will work. It looks like I could lace it a little looser, but I don't know if that would work. The breast size is perfect, but I fear it will look awkward on my belly.

Have any suggestions for what I could do to make this one work for me? I'm on a diet at the moment and I'm working out, and I lose a steady 3 lbs a week... but I just don't know if that will do the job.

I'm thinking if worst comes to worst I could buy my own ribbon to lace up the back a bit looser. Does that sound like a decent plan? Or should I suck it up and give this one away as a gift? I have exactly 11 days to figure out how to fix this problem...

Also, what If I just lace a few starting from the top and tie a bow? That way it leaves more dangling, rather than hugging my tummy? Good idea?

If the existing ribbon is not long enough for you to lace up, I like your idea of purchasing a ribbon of the necessary length from a fabric store. The following is my idea of what you could do if the ribbon is too short.

After having a friend comfortably lace up the back, note how many empty loops/rows are left that need ribbon. Have your friend mark the point where one ribbon passes through a loop and then mark the point where it passes through the loop on the row below it. Then pull the ribbon out to measure just how many inches are required from one row to the next, using your marks as a guide. Multiply that number by the number of loops/rows you have left to fill and also add an additional amount to give you a nice pretty bow with dangling ribbons. (You can determine how many additional inches to add for the bow by simply tying a bow of your liking with the desired amount of dangling ribbon and measuring the number of inches required to make it. You can do this by marking---with a different color than was previously used to measure the rows of loops, to avoid confusion---each side where the ribbon is gathered to form the knot of the bow, then untying it and measuring from the mark to the end of each ribbon end, adding the two figures together.)

It's an adorable babydoll, BTW! I've never noticed this one, and it is now on my wish list!

Adding a longer ribbon would work well. And your idea of only lacing the top few holes would be a good quick fix, but obviously wouldn't look quite as good. Too bad this babydoll is designed to fit tightly through the waist and hips. Most of them are very flowy and would be able to fit almost anyone who could fit into the cups.

Just wondering... are you actually 4'5" or did you mean to type 5'4"?

That's such a great idea, thanks so much for the help! I usually never have issues with EF outfits, but I saw a review that basically let me know I'm probably going to have trouble. My belly isn't large, but if I wear something really tight it will hug the hell out of me.

Super cute outfit!! I think your ribbon idea will work. If not, can you return/exchange for bigger size? I think Eden is pretty cool about that. Im a bigger girl too and have probs finding sexy stuff that fits right. = ( Luckily, bf usually says, wow, you look hot then wants me naked! So I dont buy stuff anymore since it usually ends up on the floor... But I do really like fancy, sexy bra and panty sets... Good luck!

Same with my fiance. I guess I just really wanted to surprise him and wear it around the house for a bit to tease him. The only issue with this one is the largest size is L. I hate that there aren't enough options for women my size. Like I said, I usually do good with L but there's always those outfits that run small.

Aw, there's no problem with that! If you can fit the cup size, all you've gotta do is mosey over to Wal-mart and buy a new pink ribbon from the craft section... it'll cost like, three bucks and you'll have enough ribbon to lace up twelve women your size.

I'm pretty sure your guy isn't going to care if it looks a little awkward over your belly.

And the whole "I can usually wear a size L" is bull. Every company makes different sized larges and different sized smalls. Sometimes I pick up a teeshirt that claims to be extra large and it's only the width of my arms, and sometimes I pick up an extra large and it's a tent on me and my measurements are bigger than yours. D: I usually try an L first, but sometimes I need an M and sometimes I need an XXL to get the fit I want... every company designs their stuff differently, you need to go by the measurements and not a letter that's just designed to make people feel self-conscious.

I don't change my wardrobe up a lot, so I have a lot of XL teeshirts still from when I was 13 and wore massive, baggy clothing. I put one of those XL shirts beside a new XL teeshirt I got and the new shirt is about half the size and fits me skin-tight, when the old one still fits me like a tent. Especially with lingerie, I find they run small. It's definitely a shame they don't make a lot of us-sized clothing.

Fortunately, though, this baby doll is just lace-up, and as long as you fit the cups (I wouldn't), you just need some more ribbon to make it fit the way you want it to fit. No tricky mods needed, just some confidence and some ribbon! Besides, who knows what sort of fun you could get up to with some extra matching ribbon.
