Okay, so Eminem's daughter is crowned "homecoming queen".

I am happy for her. She is a beautiful young lady. However, watching proud papa looking on, you have to wonder....isn't homecoming queen so...well...middle class, suburban, white bread for him? So not "his" lifestyle?

I just find it kind of funny...how different her life is from his (or the one he wants to "portray" anyway.

Anyone else get the irony here?

I still think it's great he is there to support his daughter. Every dad and daughter should have such a good relationship.

If you knew anything about Eminem, you would understand this is exactly what he wanted for his daughter. He stayed inside the school so as not to ruin her moment and he loves her very much and takes time out of his professional life to make sure she gets the upbringing he didn't have growing up. White bread, middle class is all he ever dreamed of while growing up...he has successfully kept her out of the limelight for 17 years. Where she goes from here is entirely up to her.

I read that and was most impressed. In fact, I know more about Eminem then you might want to believe, however, I know little about his career as I don't have any desire to listen to "rap" or "hip hop" and that whole lifestyle is light years from where we want to be. However, let's just say that we grew up on the exact same streets. Oh, and I am indeed happy for the both of them. She seems to have become quite the accomplished young lady on her own. As for him staying "in the school"? I highly respect him for doing that.

Understand, we are not making fun of them. It is just kind of a funny juxtaposition of "rap star" and "homecoming queen" thing we find kind of funny. If Paris Hilton disappeared from public and in ten years you found out she had gone to medical school and was now a brain surgeon, or if one of the Kardashian girls went off and became a nun. You know, all that would be great, but it would still be kind of "funny", don't you think?

I think it's great that the kids of celebrities can have a typical everyday life growing up instead of being in the limelight of their famous parent(s) & all the crap that can come from that.
