If you order tea to drink in your area, is it hot or cold?

Cold unless you specify otherwise. Also, it depends on where you go. If you go to a cafe, they'll assume hot.

I live in NJ, too. But here (central), they ask hot or cold if you just order tea. In my local diner, you can even get sweet iced tea, if that's what you want. They even have grits! I've always thought NJ is, in many ways, the northernmost southern state — at least south and central Jersey.

It really depends on what type of place you in. Most of the time it would be cold tea.
