I am a very awkward fish, but usually even I have a good time at a party. Be it, we're all about the same age, of the same interests, and if I get too bored, my home is one drunken, high-heel walk away, so it's never that awful, but... I do enjoy a good talk with someone new.

Sometimes I find a fun party, but usually I'm not a big fan of them. I'll take a nice evening with a few good friends over a party with a bunch of loud mostly-strangers and mediocre music/beer any day.

I liked parties much more so when I drank alcohol. I just recently gave it up, and now the parties are quite dull.

That's my opinion, what's the argument in favor of them? or is this just something we've convinced ourselves is good, when really NO ONE likes them? less
