I went almost five days without power. However, once the power came back on the internet and phone service immediately followed.
The unpleasant surprise of the post-Sandy blackout was how useless cellphones turned out to be. For days, no one in my area could make a call or send a text regardless of cellphone provider.

I live in Texas, so we never had a drop of rain.
However, my boyfriend is still without power in NJ. This storm has been BRUTAL. We still have not heard from a member of the family in NY, and I am blaming the cell phone provider. I am not surprised to hear that some people have gone without power for days, for some it may be even more days before power is restored, but we're hoping it is sooner rather than later.

Very grateful I didn't get hit with anything to big on the East Coast. My power flickered once.

Had a lot of wind here in Michigan, but we never lost power.

Our power went out for about 3 days because the wind blew down our transformer. A lot of people had similar issues and there were some downed poles so it took the electric company a while to get to our request.

Oddly enough, my lights just flickered. Though I can lose power with a slight breeze on the mountain I live on. I often lose power for no reason at all. But during the hurricane it just dimmed a couple of times. The couple of days after it kept turning of for a second and back on.

I live in Florida so I wasn't effected by the storm. It actually brought some beautiful weather here. It's crazy how such a bad storm can do that. But I definitely know the feeling of having no power because of a hurricane and my heart goes out to all who were effected!

All we got was some hard winds and rain. But we live in Quebec so we're further away.
