I don't have any, but my guy and i have developed a plan to homeschool, but allow them to have electives or some classes in some social, school environments.

Our kids are still too young (the oldest being only two years and the youngest two months), but they'll probably end up going to public school. I would LOVE to be able to send them to a private school (there's a really nice, family oriented Christian school a few towns away that I like), but it's unlikely that we would be able to afford the tuition.

My friend teaches her kids at home and they are so amazingly brilliant. No pressure and they learn so much more than any kid their age in school. Prior to this experience I would have said public school.

My son is in a Charter school. I did have him home schooled but he did not like that too much. He was not keen on the Charter school either but got used to it.

This is really going to depend on what area we live in when it comes time for school. Should we be in the area we are currently in...he will only be going to the public elementary school. Private school is beyond out of the question. We can't afford it at all and they are all religion based. We refuse to allow our children to be influenced by religion. Once it's time for Jr high and High school...there is NO WAY our children are going to the school in this area. It's bad. It's REALLY bad. Metal detectors at the front door. Police checking bags at the door. Police escort to buses because of using city busing. Gang activities happening all the time. My step son went there for 5 weeks. My hubby allowed him to drop out of school and get the GED instead because the school is so bad. He called us 3 times during the 5 weeks he was there for us to come and get him. The reason was because they were on lock down due to gang violence. My children aren't going to that school or any other public high school in this area. So, come that time...we will allow them to home school from the computer.

We've homeschooled for the past six years and it's worked really nicely for my kids.

Homeschooling keeps away the bullies and helps my kids focus more.

I'd go with home schooling until 4th or 5th grade and then charter school after that.

My kids went to public school. We couldn't afford private schools, and I don't think I have the temperament for home schooling, although I know a lot of friends who do it, and do it well!

My husband and I talked about home schooling our youngest. She refused. She said, "I want to go to school and sit in a desk and learn." As it turns out, she has Asperger's syndrome, and our schools have a great anti-bullying policy and the interaction she gets is just right for her. She even joined the school play, the newspaper and the Choir last year!

Every parent needs to make the choice that would be best for their child. Every family and every child is different and has different needs.

My youngest was invited to a school for the Gifted and was given a scholarship that would have been 50% of the tuition. Sadly, her sisters were in college shortly after she started school and there was no way we could swing helping at all with college AND the $6,000.00 plus the left over tuition at the School for the Gifted would have cost. It would have been fantastic, but out of our reach.

Our middle one is going to a private University for her Grad School.

I homeschooled the girls until 9th grade and then we enrolled them in an online academy. We plan to school our son the same way.

Public, but I've been considering homeschool for some time. There isn't enough enrichment for advanced students. They're just left to be bored while the rest of the class struggles to understand enough to pass the standardized tests.

Public, though I would love to be able to send him to a private one. The coursework is just too easy for him and there are not enough advancement options.

We homeschooled from K-12. Beginning in Jr. High we outsourced many of their classes through a homeschool coop and a vocational school. It worked well for my family.

I was in public school all my life. As for my future children, I'm not sure what we will do. It's not a topic we have discussed yet. I do not, however, want my children to attend the public schools around here. Lol.

I'd really like to home-school my son but am not sure that will be possible at this point, so if he DOES go to school, it will be to public school.

We do public school, and I am very happy with it. Our public schools are great, as good as or better than the privite schools around here. The teachers work with the students, extra help if needed, a bit more advanced work if wanted. I have never had a problem with the school in the 5 years my kids have gone there. Every teacher goes beyond just teaching, they really care about the kids.
