Real life "superheroes"

I saw a documentary on HBO of this & from what i can tell, theyre all doing it for the fame. They want their masks & costumes to be popular & cool like batman, they dont care about anything except themselves looking "cool".

They should all be stopped before they cause more problems. Theyre probably gonna create a villain out of some lunatic and end up causing more trouble. If they wanna do it, why not wear the armor & stuff to cover their faces & protect them w/o all the flash like SWAT teams do.

To me they make no difference except make me wonder how long we'll have to wait for a Joker ripoff "supervillain"

I don't know if its the same documentary that you saw, but I watched one where it sort of seemed like mostly 'less fortunate' people living out a fantasy of being something more. My biggest concern for these people was harm to the themselves. If you are seeking out criminals in the city who are likely to be carrying guns, and you are wearing a cape and have some martial art training, you end up shot and maybe dead.
