What are your reasons not to dye/paint your hair? :)

To tell the truth I would NEVER do anything with my natural hair color - I LOVE it as it is, and know many people who have had their hair somewhat ruined because of such things... Also, as I know such things aren't good for the energies of your head - yep, believe it or not!

So I just enjoy such things with several wigs - and intend to obtain more of course! ^^

It is bad for your hair, and once you start it is kind of addicting!

For me, the only reason I choose not to dye my hair during certain periods is if I have a job that keeps me from doing it. I have a lot of fun with different colors, and I always miss having them when they're not there.

Depending on what kind you get, you have to breathe in some nasty crap. That was one of the main reasons I stopped dyeing mine at home anyway. I got sick of smelling all the chemicals.

I stopped because my hair got long enough that it became a big hassle. I never want to bleach my hair, so if I wanted to switch around between colors I'd have to wait for it to grow out, which would take forever! I also liked fun colors, which rarely sell touch-up sets, so it would've looked really gross as it either grew out on its own or I dyed over it (resulting in uneven color, I'd think).

I'm with Kissy on this one!! I've died my hair about every color in the rainbow, but stopped about two years ago for how damaged my hair became.

Now everybody mentions how soft it is

I want to dye my hair blonde so badly, but I'm terrified I'll be allergic to the dye or that my hair will turn to straw or that it'll all fall out.

This must have been awhile ago. All major hair color brands include oils that kill the chemical smell. Garnier and Feria are two that come to mind first.

I have for about 25 years. However, I just stopped last year and am checking out my natural grey color....hmmm, not liking it, though.

For someone with black hair like me, it'll bleach my hair yellowish brown and damage the texture.

I don't like to dye mine because I prefer to damage it as little as possible so it's in tip top condition when I donate it.
If I did dye it though I'd want to do some unnatural color...probably a dark purple. ^_^
