Religion and Sex Toys

Does anyone have thoughts on the intersection of religion and sex? Or has run into issues with it? I've experienced some friction from my Lutheran parents over my gay partner (which has its roots in issues over gay sex) but I was wondering if any straight people had also encountered friction -
