I was using Pantene, but we've moved to the top of a mountain (we manage a ski lodge) and I'm trying to find "the" shampoo/conditioner to use up here. The water is a bit different from the city we were just in and when I rinse the shampoo, it doesn't feel quite right, you know?
I use Living Proof and it's the best thing to ever happen to my hair. Shampoo and Conditioner. It makes my hair frizz free and super soft. I have super thick, frizzy, and generally unmanageable hair. This has been the only thing I can find to tame it down.
I use all sorts of things, usually switching it up now and then cause after a while I tend to feel like things stop working as well on my hair, so I switch, and then switch back. My hair is super high maintenance though. I require really intense conditioners that would probably make most people's hair seem greasy for a week, and I can go through one bottle of shampoo in the same time I go through 3 bottles of conditioner.
I like Rusk shampoos alright, and all of the Ojon products except they've recently changed their packaging and I picked a conditioner that's different from the one I used to use by accident. I don't know if they still make it anymore )=. Then the FF stuff is nice every now and then, and I had good luck with this hemp stuff that comes in brightly colored containers.
Edit: I've used living proof... it didn't work for me )=
The most effective conditioner I've ever used is Terax, but it smells really strong in a chemical kind of way and makes me feel nervous. Sure used to make my hair soft and silky though...

I have the Rusk Shine Spray and it's fabulous!
Living Proof has a new Repair line. It's too heavy for my hair and would make it seem oily for a week, but it might work for you based on what you're saying.
I've never tried Terax, but the chemical smell would throw me off, too. X.x
I had okay luck with Aveda products, but even the Smoothing line left my hair frizzy. They have some good repair products as well. Left my hair with that oily, too heavy feel, but again if that works for your hair it might be worth looking into. They smell heavenly.
I use Redken in the green bottles - it's for curly hair but I don't remember exactly what they call it. I use a product called It's a Ten as a leave-in and thermal protectant and follow up with Redken Argan oil a few times a week.
I have been using Sauve Shea butter and almond. I love it, due to the price. We were penny pinching, you can get a 32oz bottle for under $3, so it was worth it. Now that we have money, I am going back to Herbal Essences body envy, it smells so awesome.
I only shampoo 2 or 3 times a month, and I still haven't found anything that hasn't dried my hair out to the point that more breaks/falls off (I have dry, curly hair).
I use suave naturals in coconut on an everyday basis, and it clarifies so much that I don't need a shampoo.

I used to use Redken, but they stopped selling the kind I used..and I haven't been able to find it
