Should I Be Worried?

Contributor: MissAdara MissAdara
I recently ordered a dildo, and when I got it, the box was open and a little smushed. It's jelly, if that means anything. I don't know if it's ok or if I should send it back....

That has happened to me before, the vibrator was completely out of the destroyed package, but this didn't come from EF. I've never had one like that from here. I guess if you are worried about it, it couldn't hurt to submit a support ticket and ask if you can send it back just for your peace of mind. I mean, I understand being a little worried, especially with the toy being jelly. It's likely that it was only smushed during shipment. It's probably okay. I personally would probably just keep it as is, but that's just me. Not saying you should do that. If you think you'd have more peace of mind knowing you got a new one in the box, unopened, then do try for that.

If it's damaged then I would submit a support ticket to return it. If the jelly wasn't protected by plastic (like some are in a plastic bag inside their box) then I would send it back anyway just because I'm paranoid and jelly isn't sterilizable. I really recommend from now on atleast ordering something made of TPR or higher grade. TPR still can't ever be 100% cleaned but it's safer than jelly.

Most toys don't have tamper evident seals if they're on the lower end of the scale (i.e. jelly), if you're uncomfortable with it, send it back.

I agree with sending it back if your uncomfortable. If possible, I would suggest you replace it with a high grade silicone instead. But that's me. I'm not a fan of jelly products.

If the dildo does not look damaged, I would keep it. If you are worried about it getting contaminated with dust/dirt while it was in a damaged container or it looks like it was squished--send it back. You can do this through the order form that shows the details for the dildo order. Fill out the support ticket and print the return postage. EF has an awesome return policy!!!

I got a busted package about 2 weeks ago. The product looked fine though, so I didn't worry about it. If the product is damaged, definitely make a support ticket.

I agree with those who suggested exchanging it for a toy of a different material. Jelly toys contain harmful chemicals called phthalates, which are absorbed by your body during use. At the very least, you should use a condom on the toy each time you use it.

I would send it back since jelly is so porous and it will help with your peace of mind. Also I agree with looking for something silicone
