Should I get a Macys credit card? Anyone have one?

I dont shop alot at macys a lot but when i do I always get asked and always say no I currently have 2 credits cards. im good with them never missed a payment and pay in full every month basicaaly i use them as like a charge card. the other day I went bought some polo underwear which already is expensive and they where on sale and couldve gotten them even more cheaper if i opened or had the card. then i went back because they had a huge sale and i bought a 200 dollar watch for 145 bucks and if i had a macys card i would of got it cheaper. do you think it would even be worth it to get it? thanks

If you need to buy expensive items at Macy's, I think it's a good idea to get a Macy's card because you'll save a lot more with it. If you're on time with your payments, I don't see why you shouldn't get a card, just remember not to go on shopping sprees because of the discounts!

It's not a bad idea, for the discounts. As long as you pay it off when you get the bill, you can end up saving a lot more than if you didn't have one.

I mean if you could get discounts that is helpful but you have to look at the interest rate compared to the discount you get. I mean it may sound good but once you logically figure out what you really would be paying in payments with interest is where you really have to look. I really hope that makes sense.

That one put me in the hole, thank God my mom was able to pull me out of the horrible debt I put myself in. Just be responsible. Pay it off ASAP. If you are doing it for a discount, you can use your card for the discount then turn around and pay your bill right then with cash. Don't miss a payment and don't acquire a bunch of cards. I learned the hard way but I got lucky thanks to my mother and my credit/name didn't get ruined, I still have an excellent score. I owe her big time!

NO, NO, NO!!! Unless you have to means to pay it off every month. They have horribly high interest rates and intice you to buy more with silly sales. Better off to use the online coupons or the ones in the newspaper. Make friends with an associate in a department you always shop in. Bring all your purchases to them to ring up, regardless of department shopped in, so long as another associate did not help you with them. They will let you know about specials and sales if you are good to them. Don't get caught in the trap!

I wouldn't. I got rid of my Macy's card because there was NO GRACE PERIOD after purchases and interest accrued immediately. This may vary by state (some have laws requiring a minimum grace period of about 21-days) but I found the questionable accounting by their credit card service not worth the additional 10% I might save on a set of dishes or sheets.

I wouldn't. You have two credit cards already. I assume these are credit cards that can be used anywhere? Meaning you don't have a Sears card, you have a Visa, mastercard, or whatever? If you already have two credit cards that can be used anywhere and you don't shop at Macy's often enough to justify a card; don't get one.

Don't bother. The measly 10% discount isn't worth the almost 25% interest rate.

I would say NO. I got one just because I could and when you go to the store you stay, charge it! And their customer service sucks, they only report on credit if you miss a payment and the interest sucks too after the indro period.

It depends on when they compound the interest, but I'd still lean towards not doing it. Every time you open another card your credit score takes a hit. Plus, do you honestly even need two credit cards? I'd pick one with decent cash back or rewards without a yearly fee and call it a day.

Macy's was one of the first thing I cancelled when I decided to live a completely credit free life about four years ago. Like Dave Ramsey says, if you play with snakes, you're gonna get bit.

but you pay in full every month. that is the point of a credit card. well in my opinion. I would never not pay in full and let them get my money lol
