Should we...?

Here is a very sensitive topic and I wonder what the dear EF members think about it...

Be honest if you wish to express your opinion, and please, keep it very, VERY moderated!

Thank you!

Should the USA go to war with Iran?

(I don't mean hearing answers like yes and no, rather going through the topic trying to reveal pro and contra points of view, and I am curious what your thoughts are about the topic, other than what the media (mainstream and alternative both) says, and that war is a horrible thing - cause of course it always is...)

Nope. Not at all. We've been through enough war for the last decade, we don't need another one.

I agree. I'm ready for it all to end. It hurts too much to lose people over there and it hurts to have your loved ones over there too.

Maybe the US should mind their own business for once and start working on what is broken here first!! Homeless families, jobs, medical care, poverty and other such issues. We have had enough of our families and children killed over the last ten years, take a break and let us enjoy and rebuild our families-not send them off to war again.

While I don't disagree that Iran needs a solid asskicking, I'm quite tired of the U.S. being the babysitters for unruly countries. We have too many issues here and until Iran knocks on our door, we should stay out of it.

Excellently said, I am totally weirded out that so many people don't care about these most important parts of our life...

Yeah, exactly...

Not to mention that so many countries have atom power and bombs, so why should the "big dog" tell others what they should do and not do?

It's like the older bully telling you that you can't eat sandwich for lunch but peanuts... Or whatever like that... ^^

Not to mention that, as far as I remember, it is only "thought" that Iran would want to make bombs too, and I don't agree with atom power at all (cause let's say if a big tsunami came to the coasts of the United States (which is going to happen sooner or later anyway because of the nearby cracks of earth crust along the western coast for example) then all those many power plants would go off together, oh my God...!!!!!!!!! ), but I find it a pretty damned disgusting behavior that one country wants to tell another what to do...

As long as there is a fucker ruling a country (or more of them) starting something against the people it's ok to step in, but USA has a long history of making things up and finding excuses to justify the bullshit...

One doesn't have to look much further than how they treated the Native Americans for example, or what was going on in Vietnam...
In front of everybody, but as long as there is panem et circenses who cares huh? ~sighs

(It is always easier to maintain a country with many people sent far away to die off... Less sheep to care about by thinning out the herd... So fucking typical...)

I agree with other posters, we really should be focused on our own problems for a while - we've got plenty. It's long past the era where the US as a whole can profit from war, so sending our people overseas is not going to do anything but aggravate our issues, never mind the lives lost and ruined!

Absolutely not. We have our own problems to deal with; whatever Iran does is not our business. I want a damned job when I graduate from college for Christ's sake! No more of this preemptive crap....

Yeah, typical huh?

I still wonder how some people can want to go so much and fight for... For God knows what... :S

I agree with the other posters. Yes, there is trouble that needs to be taken care of all over the world, but I think we need to get our own country in order first.

Well, I think that should be done everywhere...

EVERY COUNTRY should have the people in it to care for that own country...

Then there wouldn't be any need for international help too...

No, I think we should stay out of Iranian business, unless explicitly asked.

No, we should fix things up here before doing anything elsewhere, and it isn't our business anyway!
