I don't own any guns, but I have no issue with responsible, safe use of guns by law-abiding citizens.

I own several guns, antiques but functional. They are tools like anything else they can be used for evil but are not inherently bad.

I am for total gun control! I know it is not the popular position right now, but I am very much against private gun ownership.

Other, I don't believe in such rigid dichotomies on most issues including this one.

Collecting and not using... I am ok with.
Using guns I am not ok with.
Rifles for hunting I am ok with.

Key to survival, to protect yourself and be able to hunt. If they got outlawed criminals wouldn't care and they would still get them, so that is the stupidest idea among laws.

I support the freedom, not the concept.

I believe in my constitutional right to bare arms and others right to do the same thing. Yes, there are irresponsible people with guns, but there are irresponsible people with all kinds of weapons and knowledge that puts people in danger.

I think that people need to the right to choose to have a gun but I do wish that all people know how to use them

I'm okay with guns to a point. I own a .177 caliber pellet gun that i practice shooting with, (paper targets only), and wish someday to get a hold of a paintball gun. I can understand people want/need them for protection or leisure, but i feel the gun laws should be made even stricter and make it more difficult to own a firearm.

I'm a firm supporter of our Second Amendment. IMO we already have too many gun control laws. Some laws are necessary to maintain a cohesive, functional society but so many laws are trying to legislate morality and common sense.

I'm a firm believer of the 2nd amendment as well! If you take away guns you will be taking it away from the law-abiding citizens who would have helped stop a criminal but its not going to stop the criminal from having one.

My point is here in this link of an elderly man saving the day

I definitely believe in the 2nd Amendment. I don't own any guns yet, but I figure i should go to the shooting range first LOL.

The right to defend oneself is fundamental!

I recall reading in an article that the likelihood of stopping a robber, mid burglary, with a firearm is quite low - 17%, if I remember rightly.

I was raised in a VERY pro gun family and we were taught from a young age how to handle them and gun safety! And my man feels the same way I do. Our daughter is 3 and she knows you NEVER point a gun at someone even a toy gun and not to touch real ones without an adult. As long as precautions are taken and people are careful I think gun ownership is a good idea or at least I think everyone should know the basics of gun safety whether you own a gun or not!!

I support our second amendment. Wholeheartedly.

Gun control doesn't keep guns out of the hands of criminals.

Criminals don't care about laws. There will always be black markets. Criminals will always be able to get guns.

When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.

My husband and I are very pro-gun. At the moment we only have a few, but we're always looking to get some more, and both hope to have our concealed carry licenses soon.

Guns don't kill people, people do. With or without guns, there will still be crime and deaths. People kill people with pencils yet we allow them in our schools.

I'd appreciate if people had to take more classes before owning a gun, since there have been too many accidents caused by people who didn't know better. I'm fine with responsible gun ownership, as long as you have a legitimate purpose to own a gun (not just because you can)

Instruction sure, for newcomers or those just interested of course that should be available. Those of us who have been associated with firearms all of our lives have had safety inculcated into us from childhood.
BTW, accidents are at an all time low.
As far as a "legitimate purpose"? As long as I'm not prohibited from owning firearms, just wanting it is legitimate enough.
Tell me, is there any other constitutional right for which we should demonstrate a "legitimate purpose" to exercise? Speech? Religion?
