has anyone seen the commercial advertising the slushy magic? it's this cup that comes w/ these ice cubes. you put a drink or something in it w/ the ice cubes, shake it up, & bam! you have a slushy. too good to be true?

No, but now I'm going to go hunt it up online and see what it is. That would be pretty handy if it worked

I can see how it would work, the "ice cubes" would have to be made out of something with a high specific heat so that it could absorb enough heat from the drink to make the water in it start to freeze. To me it seems like it would be finicky on what drinks it would work.

From what I found online, the special ice cubes provided are plastic cubes filled with salt water, but the reviews sound like it might work better if you just use the liquid with ice in the blender

Never saw it, but I LOVE slushies! I still get Slush Puppies. They're the best slushies ever and for some reason you can't find them anywhere anymore and if you do it's usually not the old machines where you make them yourself. We have only one very old, sort of hole in the wall convenient store near my house that is the only place with the original slush puppy machine! I go there for them all the time. I'd love to have my own, but I have yet to find one that measures up to the slush puppy.

I dont think they'd work. It even turns milk into slushy. that i skinda disgusting lol

This...we bought one and it sucks pretty bad.
You have to have the liquid at near freezing temperature, and even then you're lucky if it doesn't just turn into an icy blob around the cubes.
