So I am 35 years old and I have a question....males: do you prefer to be called a MAN or a GUY? females: do you prefer to refer to your males as MEN or GUYS?

Hahaha same exact response I would have said! LOL

I'm not particularly bothered by what someone calls me, as long as it's not derogatory.

I'm 26 and more often than not, I call the male that I'm with my boyfriend/husband/frie nd with benefits or just use their name. I guess I'd lean towards my guy, but it doesn't really matter either way.

I don't care which one you call me. In fact, I will sometimes refer to a group of girls as guys' (Hay you guys!) Guys to me is non-gender specific.

I use them interchangeably, depending on who I'm talking to and what I am talking about...and it makes me sad to see that I am only the second person under 60..I must be getting old!! LOL

I'm 18 and call my boyfriend a "man" for the most part. The general male population are "guys" to me though. I think the difference is the level of respect I give. If I respect you, you're a man. If not, you're a guy.

Not every female has a male partner, for future polling.

I do, however. Most of the time he's a man. Sometimes he's a guy. And, still, other times he's a boy. Mostly he's just a nerd!

As far as how I refer to the male-identified folk of the world... depends on them on an individual basis.

It depends on how it is said and who says it more than what is said.

I am a 24 year old female. And, in my opinion, if you can't call your mate a man... Then there is probably a problem. Every male I know prefers to be called a man.

I'm 22, female. My partner is 25, male. He doesn't care, either way he usually refers to himself or other males as guys. I often refer to him as a man or guy. Doesn't bother us. As for me, I don't like being called "lady." LOL. Girl and woman are fine, but lady sounds like a granny!

I guess it depends on the person, although I generally don't refer to my boyfriend as a guy. I have issues calling him a man as well since I've known him since we were kids - don't know why I'm having issues making the transition - but I feel like "man" fits him better than "guy" certainly does. I use "guy" to describe my male friends, while I'm trying to get used to using "man" to describe my boyfriend.

He's my man. Guy seems slightly...immature.

I don't really care either way. Now that I think of it, I usually refer to myself as a guy. I have bo idea why. I guess after doing it for a while, it becomes habit where using a different term is uncomfortable.
