So I am 35 years old and I have a question....males: do you prefer to be called a MAN or a GUY? females: do you prefer to refer to your males as MEN or GUYS?

I'm 26 and more often than not, I call the male that I'm with my boyfriend/husband/frie nd with benefits or just use their name. I guess I'd lean towards my guy, but it doesn't really matter either way.

I use them interchangeably, depending on who I'm talking to and what I am talking about...and it makes me sad to see that I am only the second person under 60..I must be getting old!! LOL

I'm 18 and call my boyfriend a "man" for the most part. The general male population are "guys" to me though. I think the difference is the level of respect I give. If I respect you, you're a man. If not, you're a guy.

Not every female has a male partner, for future polling.

I do, however. Most of the time he's a man. Sometimes he's a guy. And, still, other times he's a boy. Mostly he's just a nerd!

As far as how I refer to the male-identified folk of the world... depends on them on an individual basis.

I'm 22, female. My partner is 25, male. He doesn't care, either way he usually refers to himself or other males as guys. I often refer to him as a man or guy. Doesn't bother us. As for me, I don't like being called "lady." LOL. Girl and woman are fine, but lady sounds like a granny!

I guess it depends on the person, although I generally don't refer to my boyfriend as a guy. I have issues calling him a man as well since I've known him since we were kids - don't know why I'm having issues making the transition - but I feel like "man" fits him better than "guy" certainly does. I use "guy" to describe my male friends, while I'm trying to get used to using "man" to describe my boyfriend.

I don't really care either way. Now that I think of it, I usually refer to myself as a guy. I have bo idea why. I guess after doing it for a while, it becomes habit where using a different term is uncomfortable.
