Spiked Milkshakes!

Contributor: Miss Anonymous Miss Anonymous
So, Saturday is my birthday and I want to make Alcoholic milkshakes, this is all also part of my quest in finding an alcoholic drink that I can drink…

The taste of alcohol annoys me. lol

The problem is I don’t know what alcohol goes inside of it? Or even where to start. I have some vanilla ice cream but that’s about it.

Any of you know any good recipes?

My favourite is just plain old regular chocolate (probably b/c we seem to have a lot of chocolate liqueur around the house... && b/c I can't stand the taste of many different kinds of hard alcohol) with ice cream and chocolate sauce. (Sometimes with banana or peanut butter if I'm feeling special or in the mood )

Usually we use Kahlua -- since I can't stand flavoured vodka.

My mom often puts Bailey's in (making a chocolate/coffee/Irish cream sorta milkshake).

Unfortunately I don't have actual measured out recipes (probably because we've gotten to the point of making them so often we can just eyeball it). I have heard many friends rave about strawberry spiked milkshakes (because you can use real strawberries to also help mask the flavour of alcohol). Hope this gives at least a starting point... maybe?

Idea: strawberry chocolate spiked milkshake... I think I'm going to have to try that this weekend.

I like Capt. Morgan and chocolate milk. So you might want to try some Capt. in the shake. Not a lot just a shot.

4 tbsps baileys irish cream
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
1 1/4 cups milk (whole/low fat)
1 cube ice
2 cherries (red)
1 leaf mint
chocolate syrup

Crush ice cubes in blender (I use the PULSE button).
Add Bailey?s Irish cream, ice-cream and milk, process until foamy and well-combined.
Pour into 2 tall glasses, top with a cherry and some mint leaves.
If you like, drizzle chocolate sauce on top and serve immediately.

I had one of those premade drinks in the pouches...they have all the stuff already in them. It was Segrams I think...Mango flavor. Couldn't taste the alcohol at all. All you have to do is put them in the freezer! NOM!

Don't have any specific recipes, but I would go with vodka for the liquor. It's made to be tasteless with the least amount of additives compared to other spirits.

I second the Kahlua in the milkshake... sounds yummy! As for other types of drinks that aren't necessarily milkshakes, I've always liked the standard Peach or Butterscotch Schnapps in orange juice. Personally, I've never really been able to taste the alcohol when mixing those.

And HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY, MISS NESSA!
