Stormin' & Snowin'

Contributor: Viktor Vysheslav Malkin Viktor Vysheslav Malkin
Living in the north east I get a lot of snow, living on the back roads I lose my electric a lot. So It is snowing as we speak, and we are supposed to get another 4-10 inches, on top of the 20 we already have. My electric will probably go out tonight, maybe if I am lucky my phone line...that was sarcasm...

What do you do if your electric goes out?

Get a generator? Mine is broken thank you very much!

Play with a toy... Nope...No running water, and I ain't melting snow for cleanup!

Load up my hand held DVD player!

So what do you do?

PS: God I hope the mail goes tomorrow...I am expecting a package for review

Curl up with the hubs, read by candlelight, cook by candlelight (gas stove!), hot shower, run the laptop battery down... there's a lot to do

But... I am hating all this snow - all of my plans have been ruined for over a week now. Ya can't even drive down my street. Ridiculous.

Honestly it doesn't snow a whole lot in Georgia, though those past Friday, we got around 2 inches. The most I've ever seen here.

If my electricity goes out, what do I do? I die a little on the inside. Because I live off of electricity, to put it lightly.

We have had snow, but not nearly as much as out East. I am seriously tired of wind and below zero temperatures though - where is spring?

If I'm at home, I'd probably make a fire in the fireplace. Or make s'mores over candles if I'm too lazy to get wood out of the garage.

If I were in my dorm when this power outage happened, I'd force my roomie to close her ever-open window, and cocoon myself in my comforter and refuse to come out til the heat came back on.

Is it so wrong that now I'm kind of wishing for a power outage? Snuggling with a book by candlelight sounds awesome right now!

It just stopped though, like 20 minutes ago - give it an hour, we're getting more tonight. And we're getting even MORE snow next week. Don't speak too soon, hubs...you may anger the Snow Gods

I wish it would here! Luckily my electric has not went out yet

In North Eastern Ohio that is South of Youngstown. I would be in heaven if I still was in school, so many delays and closings.

If electric goes out, I will probably do one of these things:

Play Battleship by lantern with a housemate.

Think about my upcoming review, and write down things I want to include.

Think about new Article Ideas

I live in the midwest. So, weather is crazy now and then, but it doesn't get to cold.

I would probably stay under the covers all night, read, and spend time with my animals. This really reminds me though that I'm not really prepared for a power outage.. Don't have any flash lights in my apartment. Probably should prepare for things that could go wrong. Thanks for the reminder.

Candles sound so nice!

I'm from northern New England, and we've had ice storms where families lose power, heat, water, everything for days. Luckily my family hasn't lost power for more than 24 hrs, so I just relax, read, play cards.

Same here, we're getting hammered by the storm. A few inches of slush that is currently turning into sheet ice, then a huge load of snow. Oh what fun... >.<
