Do you suffer from sleep paralysis?

if you would like to know in full detail what this is you can read the link..in short its were your brain wakes, but your body doesnt. For me..my body is paralyzed and i am wide awake..i cant breathe or move..i can hear things and am very scared....its pretty scary. (some people's are more severe, where they actually see scary people) the first time it ever happened. i woke and my body floated over my bed and i acutally saw myself laying there.
does anyone else suffer from this? (i have been experiencing it since i was 8 and just figure out what it was a few years back)

Yeah, I also have experienced this since I was young. I found out what it is a few years back in college and it actually eased my mind a lot. I can't move, even though I can hear (and often see) what is going on around me. It used to scare me so badly since I would try to scream for help and move, but nothing would happen. Now, I know what it is, so I just focus on my breathing and try to remain calm.

I've had that rarely, but it's pretty rare for me. Usually it passes quickly.

I've experienced it a handful of times and they were all really scary. Once I did see something that wasn't there and it was pretty disturbing.

I've never experienced it and this is actually the first I've heard of it. Bless you...I feel so bad for you and I can't begin to imagine how horrifying this is for you.

Sleep paralysis is how the body prevents you from acting out your dreams. Sometimes the mechanism breaks down and you can wake before the chemical paralytic is out of your blood stream and the sensation is terrifying. it can lead to all sorts of weird hallucinations and other unexplainable phenomena. The key is to remember that this will pass and relax. If you do the sensation will pass quicker. It's easier said than done but I would recommend trying to master the concept of lucid dreaming. This will help you to be able to feel more in control and relax faster during a sleep paralysis event.
