The Bedroom Temperature Poll (Or: Let's Snuggle/I'm Sweating)

Contributor: ShadowKitten ShadowKitten
Fans run 24/7/365, usually 'air out' all the stuffy air (I live in a single room dwelling that gets VERY stuffy during the day even in the winter due to the electronics running 23/7 and the heat that really doesn't need to be on in such a stuffy room) right before bed too, if the entire room isn't cool I cannot fall asleep, I can't wait until it gets warm enough to run the AC most of the day (has to be 15C+) although it blows dust everywhere and I dunno if it's going to survive another year :S

I like to be able to snuggle under blankets. My cat likes it too.

My comforter and sheets make it really warm in my bed, so I prefer for my room to be cool. I don't like sleeping without my comforter on me and the colder my room, the more I get to snuggle up in my bed.

Since I live on the corner of my building my bedroom is always super cold in the winter time. It is usually a few degrees colder than the rest of the house, and I am always freezing my ass off when I wake up. I do have a nice hefty blanket to keep me warm and snuggly though, because I refuse to pay a fortune in Consumer's for the small luxury of heat. lol

I don't like to be cold and I don't like being too hot so we keep the room cool and I can add covers or snuggle with Hubby to be comfortable. I always sleep with two blankets over me and my feet tucked in so if it's hot I'd be miserable.

We keep it on the cool side because my husband always sweats in his sleep. If we keep it a little colder I can cuddle up to him and he doesn't get uncomfortable.

I like it cool, because I tend to get too hot. My girlfriend doesn't mind, but she wants extra blankets on her side.

If it's too hot, I can't sleep. If it's too cold, I can't sleep. I prefer it to be room temperature, but even then I'll snuggle under some blankets cuz it's cozy! When I'm with the bf, I don't mind if it's a little cool simply because he's like having a personal heater.

this. exactly. and on top of it, I don't like to snuggle sleep. I like to get very sleepy while snuggling, but not actually sleep like that. I'm a morning snuggler, if I have the chance. Mr is up before the sun, usually, so rarely I get to do this.

Room temperature is nice, maybe a bit on the colder side is nice at bedtime, it's so nice to curl up in blankets! But during the day I like it a bit warmer, since I tend to hang around with little to no clothes on. (I live with roommates, so my bedroom is my only "me" space.)

I've actually woken up from my room being too hot before: I have giant windows which are great for light, but combined with the heating being on make my room BOILING some mornings.

I absolutely HATE being hot, so the colder the better for me. Plus you get to get cuddle up in the bed with lots of blankets

Mostly cool for us. Having a fan for extra air pushing and noise is also a nice touch.

I'm long and skinny and always freezing, so I like it warm - my favourite weather is when it's around 95F. I'll turn on a fan and be under just a sheet and maybe a light blanket to cover my legs, since I think I have poor circulation and they tend to get cold, and I'm happy. Also, I find the constant, soft whirring of a fan comforting, and it helps me fall asleep.

On the other hand, my boyfriend is short and stocky and usually warm - his favourite temperature is about 75F. He likes sprawling out in his underwear under a medium blanket and sheet while the cat sleeps on one of his legs.

If we keep the room warm, he sweats so much that he soaks half the bed. If we keep it cold, I'll be pressed against him all night for warmth and wake up with a crick in my neck from sleeping in a tightly-curled ball and a cold nose. To compromise, it's about 70-75F, and we're both usually ok.

He: It goes like this: We get downstairs and she says "it's COLD! buhbuhbuhbuhbuh", and I say "it's not that cold, you whiner". She says "my toes are turning into popsicles" and I say "I know how to warm you up! *winkwinkwinkwinkwink* " and she points to the door and commands me to turn up the heat. Then I go turn up the heat and she puts her cold feet on my nuts and once that evens out, it's OK until I start cooking because it's nine thousand degrees. The end!

She: True story. Happens every night.

My husband likes to keep it warm. He likes to be warm when he gets to bed, like wrap himself up in a cacoon of blankets warm. I, on the other hand, dont like it TOO warm, nor too cold. However, I like to sleep with a fan on a lot of the time. I like to be comfortable. But we keep the bedroom the way he likes it and I adjust as it's easier for me to adjust than hear him complain.

My wife and I both like it cool. No matter what time of year, we like it around 70 at night. Just cool enough for the sheet and blanket. Maybe the comforter in winter.

I like the room cool. Before I had to go on HRT for premature peri-menopause, I wanted the room to be like a refrigerator! I had the heat in out home set at 65 degrees and after years of My Man yelling at me to turn down the heat, he is now the cold one. LOL!

The meds have evened out my temperature control system a little, so I like it cool, not freezing. I don't sleep well in the heat.

My Man seems to think that if it's "comfortable" outside, we don't need the Air on in the house. Even if the house is 85 degrees! He turns it OFF, then I mess with the thermostat and it turns on later. I can't stand waking up in a puddle of sweat. I just cannot sleep in a hot room.

Made love in HOT upstairs rooms, and COLD icy places. Love it best when it is slightly warm, with a ceiling fan. Don't know why!?

As cold as possible. If I wake up shivering, I am a happy, happy girl.

I like to snuggle under blankets from that, either by myself, with my dog or (ideally) a warm body.

I have got to have cool air blowing on me or I can't sleep. Luckily for me, hubby is the same way. We live in Mesa Arizona, so it gets too hot, even with the air on, in the summer sometimes to snuggle. And that is sad because snuggling is one of my favorite things!

I like it hot. My fiance likes it cold.

We wage war over the heater often.
