The Injured List

We all get sick sometimes. Sometimes we're incapacitated and spend all day asleep. Sometimes we just spend the day being groggy and uncomfortable. Either way---I thought having a forum thread to commiserate with other folks who are sick wouldn't be a bad idea.

I'm not sick today, but my boyfriend's been awake three times, each for about 15 minutes, now, before heading back to bed to try to sleep away an earache. So I'm lonelily populating Eden. Anybody in my boyfriend's boat?

My boyfriend's under the weather, too! He's been groggy and grumpy all week with headaches and just a general feeling of ickyness (Which then leads him to be grumpy and me to be sad!)

Aw Luckily your avatar is an adorable octopus so you can get a little bit of cheer. I hope he feels better soon!

It's strange... apart from if I did a sideways summersault while swimming and got water down my ear, I don't think I've had an earache since I was a little tyke. I don't even know what causes earaches.

Does he feel better if you give him a neck massage?

He doesn't really like neck massages, but cuddles seem to ease his pain!

I actually had a pretty bad earache last week because my sinuses like to take my whole head down with them! (I've gotten tons of toothaches because of colds)

There are SO many different things that can help, but I've heard that holding some peroxide to your ear hurts like nothing else but clears up the infection (if he has one) in hours! Also something about ginger roots and onions being held onto the ear, but I'm a bit more skeptical about that!

I threw out my back dustbusting (yes I'm THAT accident prone) earlier today so the majority of my day has been spent trying to find comfortable positions to rest in so it can heal.

In pretty good health personally. But the boyfriend's been pretty stomach-sick for like two weeks now! Doctors did a bunch of tests but no answers yet. Really hoping he gets better soon!
