I've never eaten fish or turkey. I don't much care for red meat. I really only eat chicken and on occasion pork. I've never been a big meat eater and I always seek out meat substitutes when I can. I just don't like the taste.

I was a strict vegetarian for 12 years because it's better for the environment, and I just enjoy eating lower on the food chain in general.

I was a vegetarian for years, because I thought it was healthier. I still enjoy eating healthy foods.

I've been veg for about 11 years, initially I saw a pretty gut-wrenching video of an animal being skinned alive and I couldn't deal with any meat/fur/animal tested products for a few years. After that, my grandfather started getting sick a lot, and his horrible super-meaty diet was heavily fueling his horrible health, it scared me a lot, for the first time I realized what it was to be mortal! I CAN die if I don't take care of myself! That was a scary realization as a young teen, so on top of my vegetarianism I started eating healthier too. Now I'm very happily and healthily pescatarian (I still eat fish, specifically sustainably caught fish with scales, no other sea creatures) and I'd never go back. I wouldn't mind eating nice, organic, humanely treated meat once a month or so for the health benafits, but unfortunately I've LONG lost the enzymes to digest it and it would be a stomach-ache-adventure trying to regain them haha.

I'm a meat eater, but I voted with the opinions of my vegetarian friend. She never liked meat very much and she disapproves of factory farming, so she decided to give up meat altogether.

I'll let someone who writes better than I do express it for me:

“A man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; therefore, if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite. And to act so is immoral.”
