How much time, every day, do you spend THINKING about sex? Think about this carefully before answering.

Listening to a radio psychologist who specializes in human sexuality, she said a study give people a little hand held "button" attached to their finger...like a step counter, and whenever they thought about sex, they would hold the button down. YES, she admitted the study could be skewed high, because just having the button there made you think about it's implications and thus sex, but her findings were amazing. She said that MEN would think about sex for a total of about THREE HOURS out of a twelve hour period. Woman about ONE and a HALF hours.

Do you think that is LOW or HIGH? How much time do YOU think about sex in a regular day?

I just asked a few folks at work and two woman said "NOT AT ALL, unless at home with boyfriend/husband", one guy said "maybe once or twice...a few minutes at most" in a given, regular day.

SO, is this psychologists study way removed from reality? What say you? How much time do you spend with these thoughts floating obviously through your head?

Well I think about Eden alot, and writing reviews, as well as trying to find a job at an adult store. If these count I'm within their results, if not I's quite under!

I'm sad to say - in spite of the time I spend on EF, I think a lot less about sex than I did when I was younger. As my capacity has diminished - so has my supporting fantasy life.

I think it's like the "don't think about penguins" game, the button is bound to make them think about sex. That said, a lot of the gender-biased research has been proven to be bunk in the past years, and I believe I've heard specifically that this study (or one very similar) has been disproved repeatedly (In a psychology class I took.) It depends, it seems, on the specific group, and it's a faulty study to begin with because there's no control group.

All that considered, I think about sex about 5 hours out of a 24 hour time-span, sometimes more, sometimes less, it depends on a whole ton of hidden factors (that this study didn't consider, such as: "stage of the menstrual cycle the women were on." "Were the men around ovulating women" "Sexuality of the participants." "Were any of the participants on depression medications" "Were the participants depressed" "How many and which participants were parents" "Were the participants and which ones were the primary caretakers of a child" "What was the financial situation of each participant." "How had the participants been sleeping" "How much alcohol/how many cigarettes did the participants consume in a week." "How many hours a day did the participants work." etc.)

A couple of my medications have incredibly boosted my sex drive, and my desire to have sex is on the brink of having spontaneous orgasms. I've been with my significant other (long distance) for over a year and a half and due to unavoidable, unfortunate circumstances, have been unable to meet as of yet. The date is set for December. So, sexual tensions are set on high, adding to my desire to have sex.

Thus, thinking about any form of sex is on my mind pretty much all the time, at least passively. Actively, it's still a lot, probably several hours a day, if not in the double digits. Pretty much, if my mind is idle for longer than a millisecond, I'm thinking about sex.

Yeah, my boyfriend's kinda lucky to have me.
