On this date in 1917, James Stanley Falck of Washington, D.C. received a U.S. Patent for his invention, a device “for assisting copulation, wherein a semi-rigid sleeve or casing is provided for inclosing the male organ with the glans exposed, to hold the said organ sufficiently rigid to permit penetration”.
