When I go on road trips I am usually always in the passenger seat as I don't drive.

My main job is always as navigator and making sure the driver is comfortable.

Then, to keep them entertained. I don't think it is really fair that I can read a book or write or what not when they must focus on driving. So I keep up conversations, read to them, talk about where we are going, what we might see... etc...

I am told I am the most fantastic pea nut gallery.

If we don't have the kids, then you can bet I'll be using one of my newer (or old trusty) toys. I love mini road trips! We usually do at least one mini road trip a week. No better time to break out the new toy. I actually did it earlier in the week. I hadn't had the chance to use my newest glass toy yet and well, it was in my purse & we were in the car. I LOVED it.

If I'm not being dirty in the car, then I'm doing somethig else. Hardly ever sleeping though. I will read on my Kindle or be a little crazy with the kids or whoever else we've got coming along with us. Being in the passenger seat is loads of fun for me. We're usually doing something fun, especially if it's the kids or our friends in the car --nothing dirty with them in there.

About the only time I'm napping or doing nothing in the passenger seat is if we're on our way to Panama or I've got a migraine and a lot of times even those don't stop me. I LOVE our ride to Panama! It's always awesome. We're leaving for Panama again next month. I tell you, last year some of my fondest memories from being down there was in the car. LOL. We have an 8 hour drive & after 2 of those hours, we turned ALL THE WAY around and came back for my sister and my neice who was one at the time. We already had our 13 yr old in the car, so this was a big load. It was a freakin' blast though. None of us slept for the 8 hrs besides my neice. She'd make me massage her little feet (her in the middle back seat, me in the passenger) until she fell asleep. Boy was my car a mess after that ride.

The rest of the time, my sister & our 13 yr old was in the backseat going WILD. They drove me insane after a while, but were hilarious. Every time they'd see a sign, they made up these huge (crazy, crazy) stories to go along. Just think what it was like when we passsed "Dick's, Crab's and Papa John's! LOL.

So I'm really looking forward to our trip next month. I make my lovie drive down there most of the way, so we really make him crazy.

I'd prefer to ride over driving any day. The passengers have ALL the fun.

Just whatever...whoever is in the passenger seat always keeps an eye on the right side of the road when making a left turn. We let each other know when the way is clear.

Depends how long the trip is. If we're only going to the store and back I just talk to him and we continue the conversation inside the store, but if we're going to another town I bring my book and ipod, or I bring my canvas needle point (working on a project atm) and my ipod. Sometimes I won't bring anything and I'll have a enjoyable trip with hubby.
I have yet to do anything naughty because the roads we travel, we ALWAYS meet about three truckers on the way. So we can't do anything because he KNOWS all those truckers due to them being local.

Sit back and relax, watch traffic, munch on snacks, chat with the hubby, sing along with the radio. It really depends on how long the trip is but I've never really been able to sleep in moving vehicles and I can't concentrate enough to read in them either.
