What do you do to de-stress?

Contributor: Nissa Nissa Nissa Nissa
I'm drinking tea, eating wasabi almonds (which are going to eat my tummy alive if i don't stop) and I'm watching Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightly on blu-ray.

What do you do/What are you doing to de-stress after a bad day?

If I've had a bad day, and it's nice outside at sunset/dusk, I'll sit in the backyard with a glass of wine and watch the bats flying around the trees, eating bugs, while I pet the stress-reducing cat-in-my-lap (she thinks she should be paid extra in food for this luxury service; I think it's just part of the "job description"). My S.O. and I talk (and unload) for a good long time almost every night as well; just getting it all out verbally seems to help a lot. Or I might go for a long walk or exercise, watch a movie or get lost in a good book or online site.

I exercise. I walk 3-4 miles on a 'good' day and if I have a bad day at life or my personal life is sucking I can double that without thinking about it - I just burn the anger/pain/frustration out of me.

I love to take hot bubble baths. I also read. Or cuddle up to my Master. Also watching any Star wars movie will always cheer me up after a bad day.

I like talking to my boyfriend, reading, having a drink or two, or playing some video games. Especially the boyfriend and video games. I don't think I'd make it without them.

I also really enjoy smoking weed, which I know not everyone agrees with and is not for everybody. But I get really bad anxiety, and it is a great way for me to unwind. Calms me down, makes me giggly, and gives me none of the anger, depression, or sickness that drinking can. Weed used to be a big part of my winding down at night, but not so much anymore. I find that it's better to do it once in a while rather than all the time.

Sorry, not trying to make this thread about weed. Mostly nowadays it's just the videogames and boyfriend. Ooh! And sex!

Star Wars films do have that effect, don't they? I used to read or hop on the internet or watch a favorite film. Now my favorite way is to run or some other exercise...channeling that negative energy into a good hard run and focusing on your form and rhythm just makes it all disappear, and then the endorphins hit after...Sometimes it is almost as good as sex.

Which reminds me, sometimes I masturbate..orgasms and endorphins, you know?

Music, it changes your life. Just know what mood your in, and how you want to affect it. I constantly find myself switching between lighter music in the late spring to early fall, to heavy hard music getting all the way to death metal near christmas, and back.
