They always seem to find me even with long sleeves and pants on (I guess it's a hazard of living in Florida). I just get fed up and stay inside.

I don't know about gnats or no see ums but for MOSQUITOES this thing is REALLY the best that I've ever tried. My backyard deck was absolutely unusable until I got one of these. It worked well but I got two more (it's a big deck) I'm absolutely impressed with how well it works.

My house is at the bottom of kind of a bowl area. After a rain there's damp places in the yard that stay soggy for days or even a week, perfect for mosquitoes. As well there's deep storm drains that always have water down at the bottom, again perfect for mosquitoes.

Live in San Diego - we don't have them at ALL!

Depends on where you live. I used to live in a wetland area. My parents got a bat cave/nest thing and they did successfully get bats.

Another way could be to get one of those CO2 emitters, since mosquitoes are attracted to CO2, they go there instead of on you and get killed.

Good luck!

I use those candles they sell to keep bugs away, and spray myself with Off, it always seems to keep them away.

Coils are great. I don't know if they repel gnats, though.

I've tried the candles, several different brands even, as well as the coils.
The result was that I ended up bitten and smelly.
Check Consumer Reports for unbiased information on the candles etc.
