What is the most valuable life lesson you've learned?

Contributor: kitty1949 kitty1949
A friend posed this question to me earlier, and it left me thinking. What is the most valuable lesson you've learned in life?

For me, I'd have to say the fact that you can't change a person, and in situations you have no control over, all you can change is your reaction. That was the first one that came to mind, though I have many others.

What about you?

Don't laugh at/with people when they're mad at you. For some reason this took me a while to get.
