The Christmas Card, most definitely. Its about a US soldier who visits the town from where an inspirational Christmas card was sent to him by a church group that mails cards out to servicemen as a good will effort.

It stars Edward Asner, Lois Nettleton and the two primary people that it is about is played by John Newton and Alice Evans, she's the one that sends the inspirational card.
