Anything written. Text, email, forums, talking online, etc. I have a really hard time actually talking to people in person, so it's easier to type things out and take the time to make sure I'm saying what I actually want to say.

I prefer face to face. A lot of my communication skills are non-verbal, so it's easier for me that way for personal things. For professional, I prefer cut/dry text.
